1. I would like to be able to have casual conversation with the person that I interview by the end of the interview process.
2. I want to get to know them personally not just ask them about their culture in general.
3. I would like to have an understanding of the major cultural differences between their culture and my own.
4. I want to know what their struggles as well as the things they have enjoyed since they have been at SCSU.
5. I want to know why they decided to come to SCSU in the first place.

1. whom I interview
ReplyDelete2. personally and general or no oppositions you could connect with "not just"
4. things they have enjoyed = pleasures
"I would like to learn about challenges and pleasures of living in a foreign culture."
While many of your objectives focus on your interest, please review Mohammed's objectives and consider implementing similar strategies.
cheers
Roland
Your objectives are good, but don't focus all about your interest, focus on subjects that will get you the most information.
ReplyDeleteI like number 4 the most since we always get in that kind of situations...
ReplyDelete-Mohammed.
Your objectives are good as they cover almost everything. What you could ask in addition is what they are doing from their side to adjust in the American culture.

Your interests of this interview are quite clearly and detail but you should add up more implementing strategies to your interview objectives.
ReplyDeleteI like objective number 2. You may want to add the steps you are going to take in the interviewing process.
ReplyDeletei like the part about getting to know them well.
ReplyDeleteObjective 3 is very broad, you might want to be specific when you ask a question about the differences between both cultures.
ReplyDeletegetting to know them should be a plus when doing the interview, it should help them to be more comfortable and open
ReplyDeletei like how you have some things that people would never think of like their struggles
ReplyDeletei think you might want to work on their own culture, more than just the difference. that's what you're going to compare to.
ReplyDeleteImagine that you are in a place where his/her culture dominates. You might be able to add more different objectives. :)
ReplyDeleteGreat start, but you may want to include more details on your preparation and post-interview work that will be required.
ReplyDeleteGreat start. being able to have a conversation with the persone after the interview would be nice. More information on what you will do after interview.
ReplyDeleteThey are good purpose for this interview~ but i think it's better to add some interviewing process
ReplyDeleteI like the casual personal aspect to your interview! Well done, yet maybe include a few more objectives to really understand what you want accomplished in your interview
ReplyDeleteGood objectives, may need a few more about your preparation though.
ReplyDeleteHow casual are you willing to let the conversation get? These are good objectives for the interview, but what do you plan on doing in preparation for it and in conclusion of it?
ReplyDelete-Be more specific about the interviewing process but I guess you already know what to do by reading other people's comments
ReplyDelete- I like to the objective #4, it will help you and your interviewee closer ( comfortable) you might even find the problems in common too.

You look relaxed about the whole topic. The part I most liked about your objective is you have even mention struggle of international students. It is very thoughtful.
